Freedom Award Introduction

• The Freedom Award is Trail Life USA's highest and most prestigious award. The trail that one takes to earn this award is one that will stretch and grow the Trailman as a man. It will help them hone their skills and practice servant leadership. Their faith will be tested and grown along this trail. These experiences will prepare them to head out into the open rangelands of Freedom.
• The Freedom Award is the youth Trailman’s Award. He must be the “driver” of earning his Award. The Trailman’s Trail Life Connect profile has a “Trail Map” that guides him down the Freedom Trail. Within his Freedom Trail, he will find the Freedom Award Procedure Guide which will assist him as he navigates down the Freedom Trail. This procedure guide is written from the perspective of the Adventurer Trailman and not his Troop or Area leaders.
• Adult leaders who earned the Boys Scout’s Eagle Scout Rank before January 1, 2019 may be eligible to earn the Adult Freedom Award. Download the Adult Eagle Scout Freedom Award Procedure Guide to learn more.
